Fall

The beginning of Fall is of my favourite times of the year (hey, September babies). It’s not too cold, you can still enjoy the outdoors and the scenery is beautiful.

To celebrate, I just wanted to share some fall inspired treats.

Pocoyo

I was asked a few months back to make Pocoyo cookies for a child’s first birthday. I don’t know if many of you have heard of Pocoyo but if you have a little one who likes to dance, google it! Watching kids copy these dance moves might be the cutest thing I’ve seen.

Lions and Elephants and Zebras, oh my

For me, baby shower season usually means that my kitchen is filled with baby onesie and carriage cookies. Though I love the theme, at the end of the season, I’m ready for a change. So when I received an email requesting baby shower cookies, I may have cringed a little, already thinking of ways I could sway the client away from onesies. Thankfully, the theme was not onesie related, it was Noah’s Ark!

It was such a fun theme to do! Look how cute!

Sometimes all you need is a little change. Now I can go back to onesies!

Cookies for Autism

“Different not less.” – Temple Grandin

Though Baked for Good is a business I am quite passionate about, it is only one half of my career.

From Monday to Friday, I spend my days working with amazing children who are autistic. Working with these children have taught me a lot about life and about myself. I have learned to be more patient and open-minded. More importantly, they remind me to have fun and be creative. In return, I can only hope that I’ve also left a positive impact on their lives. It is not an easy job but it is a fulfilling one.

So this is my attempt to combine both of my worlds – any purchase of these puzzle cookies will directly benefit those with autism, their families and their communities.

image

30% of profits made for these puzzle cookies will be donated to Autism Speaks Canada. Perhaps with our help, we can help solve the puzzle that is autism and provide these children with a better standard of living.

Happy Birthday, Canada!

As much as I whine and complain about this country (especially in the cold), there is no comparison to the feeling I get when I come back home after being away for a while. I love this country and there’s no other place I could call home.

Bachelorette

Last weekend, I threw a Bachelorette Party for one of my best girls. While I will keep the details of the weekend to myself, I wanted to share a pictures of the treats I made.

These lingerie and hot abs cookies were definitely a hit!

Fairytale Shower

image

One of my best friends is getting married soon and much of March and April was spent preparing and throwing her a shower.

The theme was a grown up fairytale and I made these cookies accordingly. To make them especially beautiful, I added some gold lustre dust to make them really shine.

Baptism and Communion Crosses

image

I was asked to make some cross cookies both for a baptism and a communion.

Both were for boys but designed a little differently – one with polka dots, another with a little cross design.

Both turned out well and both clients were very happy with the results.

Bridal Shower

It’s been quite a busy few months for me. It seems that April is the official start of shower season – both bridal and baby – as well as baptism and communion time.

Here are a few pictures from a bridal shower I worked on recently. Photo credit goes to the bridal party.
