Bride and Groom Cookies

These cookies were made for a couple who wanted something original for their wedding thank you gifts. The bride suggested this idea and at first, I was skeptical. I thought it might be too much for one cookie. However, when they were finished, the result was surprisingly cute.

Once packaged, they looked awesome and made a lovely thank you gift.

Simple Little Dinos

I’m usually asked to make very complicated design for kids birthdays like Angry Birds, Spiderman and Ninja Turtles. So when a client asks for something simple, like dinosaurs, for their kid’s birthday, I am grateful. Like, SUPER grateful. Thank you to the little boy who wanted something simple. Hope you had the happiest of birthdays!

It’s your Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman!

In cookie format!

I often want to say no when a client requests character cookies mainly because it’s hard to do and they don’t always come out great. This time, though, I had to say yes because a) I love Spiderman and b) making spiderweb cookies are one of my favourite techniques. They’re super easy but eye-catching. And I often only get the chance to make them for Halloween. Glad I said yes because these turned out great.

Red Velvet, you’ve made it on my flavour menu after all

So red velvet hasn’t really been a favourite cupcake of mine. It HAS, however, been the second most requested. The number one spot belongs to nutella (obviously, nutella trumps all). But I couldn’t continue saying no. I had to give red velvet a chance.

A little background info – red velvet has never been my favourite mainly because the ones I’ve tasted have all tasted like food colouring to me (with the exception of one – too bad I forgot to ask where they were from. Boo.). Red velvet is supposed to be a moist chocolate cake that gets it red colouring from the reaction of vinegar and buttermilk. However, through its evolution, it became a really bright red cake full of food dye. Not my cup of tea.

Lucky for me (and my clients!), I found a recipe that tastes like red velvet should without all the food colouring. Score!

A pea in the pod for your bun in the oven

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share a cute little post with you. My last few posts were on weddings so I thought it would be fitting to post this time around about babies! What better way to celebrate a shower than cupcakes! With a little sweet pea on top! Too cute, I know.
